Question of the Day - 6 May 2011

A man is selling eggs; to the first customer he sells half of his eggs plus half an egg; to the 2nd customer he sells half of what's left plus half an egg; to the 3rd customer he sells half of his eggs plus half an egg; at this point he has sold all of his eggs without breaking any; how many eggs did he have at the start?
